Monday's game management meeting was short but productive. This week, we have a baseball doubleheader on Tuesday. On Saturday, there is a baseball game and a men's lacrosse game. I will be working the lacrosse game as a spotter, which is a similar capacity as I have done in the past.
Also during the meeting, we began talking about the ESPY-type award show we are preparing for the student-athletes in May. With the event less than a month away, it is time to start gathering footage and nominations for the multiple awards that will be presented.
We are going to meet again on Wednesday to further discuss the awards banquette. During that meeting, we will address nominees and the design of the awards (which was also briefly discussed during the game management meeting). On Thursday, me and Scott Erland will go to Sigmon Communications (the media department at Lincoln Memorial) to obtain necessary footage.
Following the meeting, I researched old articles that Scott wrote regarding lacrosse. There is a good chance that I will be writing the game recap for the game on Saturday. With no experience in covering lacrosse, I needed to see exactly how these games are recapped. In my job as sports editor, I cover all the major sports (football, basketball, baseball, soccer, etc.) but have never covered lacrosse.
