Today was a busy for the LMU athletic department. In addition to a double-header against Lenior-Rhyne, it was alumni appreciation day, faculty appreciation day, and there were several "legends" being honored. With several events taking place during the game, we were constantly on the move attempting to get people where they needed to be.
First up was the presentation of the game ball at the beginning of the women's game. With about two minutes until game time, I had to assist assistant AD Cam Whicker with getting the members of the alumni association together. I handed the individuals the game ball so they could present it to the referee. I performed the same duties before the start of the men's basketball game as well.
During halftime of both games, the athletic department honored three teams - two cross country teams and a basketball team. This is a new program that AD Matt Green created for the university.
As it pertains to the basketball games, the Lady Railsplitters came out on top of a one-sided game, 65-49. The men had to rally back from an 18-point deficit, but were able to pull off a 86-75 victory to stay undefeated in SAC play.
