To get a better understanding of all sports, Athletic Director Matt Green assigned me to be a spotter for LMU's lacrosse game against Emanuel. Prior to today, I had never played or even watched a lacrosse game. Outside of a quick YouTube video a day before for the match, I went into today completely clueless to the game.
After the game was over, I feel like a gained a better understanding of lacrosse. My job during the game was to radio penalties and assists to the keepers in the press box.
My duties meant I had to communicate effectively with the refs as it pertained to penalties, players, penalty times, etc. While it was a new experience, I fairly enjoyed adding a new wrinkle to my sports cap.
As for the results of the game, Adam Golia's six-point outburst paced the Railsplitters to a 12-4 victory over Emanuel. After the game was over, I assisted the department with clean up.
